Violence Director

Gaby Labotka is an actor, director, storyteller, choreographer, and more living and working in the city of Chicago. She is so excited to have collaborated with WildClaw on Night in Alachua County after directing for Deathscribe 2016. Recent Choreography credits include Survivor Story: A Workshop (Transcendent Ensemble Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Teatro Vista, 2017), Subterfuge (part of Nothing Special Productions’ FIGHT NIGHT), Steampunk Christmas Carol (E.D.G.E. Theater, 2016) and Battleaxe Betty (ATC CORE Series). She also directed, curated, and hosted FIGHT NIGHT: VALKYRIES for Nothing Special Productions in 2016. Next up, she will be directing Wasteland Hero (Reutan Collective), Assistant Director/Fight Choreographer for ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (Emerald City Theatre, dir. Jaqueline Stone), and Violence Designer/Choreographer for The Good Fight (Babes with Blades, dir. Elizabeth Lovelady). Gaby is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and is often a Teaching Assistant for stage combat classes at MACE and The Actors’ Gymnasium.
