Norine McGrath
Norine studied directing and fiction writing at Columbia College, and has had a crush on Stephen King since the tender age of 9. They’ve been obsessing over horror novels as long as they can remember, and are thrilled to continue their dance with the macabre through WildClaw.
Norine has worked at theatres all around Chicago over the last 9 years. They were the tech director and assistant director for Blackbird Theatre Company, has stage managed and assistant directed at City Lit and for Painted Lady Productions. They are currently working with Outlaw Production Collective to workshop and produce new plays in Chicago. Directing credits include Of Mice and Minotaurs, The Diary of Anne Frank, Watbanaland, and Margaret Fleming (Assistant Director to Ryan Washabaugh) as well as several short pieces for the Royal Non Such Presents’ byot series. Their favorite projects were assistant directing for Sheldon Patinkin during Volpone, stage managing Frankenstein, and putting on the Art of Adaptation Festival at City Lit for the past 5 years.
Though behind-the-scenes is where their heart truly lies, they have been coaxed back into the spotlight for several productions of The Rocky Horror Show, and was seen singing onstage as The Stage Manager in Blackbird’s The Tragedy of Jennifer, Brad and Angelina… They also do hair and makeup, and have recently thrown themselves into the world of special effects.
